The memory crisis has been a disaster for the industry. Hardware prices are skyrocketing, and analysis firms have predicted that this isn’t going away anytime soon. Apart from RAM and SSDs, GPUs have been the biggest affected.

The prices were already soaring, but now, following a recent price hike, Nvidia RTX 50 Series Blackwell GPUs are now selling at a median price of up to 135% of the MSRP in the US, with RTX 5070 costing $900.

Why it matters: GPU prices had already become insane; however, this price increase has taken them to a devastatingly new high. For context, the RTX 5090 is now going for a whopping $5,000 from its $1,999 MSRP.
