Red Dead is undoubtedly one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry and the most successful for Rockstar Games after Grand Theft Auto.

It was recently reported that Red Dead Redemption, which celebrates its 14th anniversary today, would finally be coming to PC. Another leak now suggests that the game may also be coming to subscription services like Game Pass and PS Premium.

Why it matters: This would allow the title to reach millions of players even over a decade after its release.

As noted by Timtendo12 on Reddit, a line of code has been found on the official website of Rockstar, suggesting that Red Dead Redemption could finally be coming to Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Premium.

A coding that was recently added to the official website states: 

available for Nintendo Switch, PS3, PlayStation Plus Premium for PS4 and PS5, Xbox 360, and Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

Red Dead Redemption has been released on all the above-mentioned platforms except for Game Pass and PS Plus Premium, suggesting that the game could soon be coming on that service as well. 

However, it should also be noted that this could be written accidentally by someone at Rockstar. Therefore, it’s best to take such news with a little grain of salt, as it’s not officially confirmed yet. 

We believe that it’s likely that Red Dead Redemption could be released on Game Pass and PS Plus Premium as the developers have a history of releasing their games on the services in the past.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has recently been a part of the May lineup of PlayStation Plus, and the game was available on Game Pass in 2020. Therefore, there is a strong chance that Red Dead Redemption may also make its debut on both of the subscription services.

Nonetheless, Red Dead Redemption has been one of Rockstar Games’ most successful releases, selling over 23 million copies by 2021; this appears to be the right time for the title to be launched on subscription services to reach millions more new players.
