"Love How Hellblade 2 Is Coming Together"

Story Highlights
  • Hellblade 2 is coming in 2024, and the Head of Xbox is extremely excited for the game.
  • He claims to be a fan of Ninja Theory’s work, stating that the wait for this epic narrative adventure is almost over.

Fans have been waiting many years to venture into a new journey after the original Hellblade debuted in 2017. Following an intense psychological adventure, Hellblade 2 has been on the radar of millions of gamers.

This game was recently rated by the Australian Board, suggesting that a release date would be revealed soon. Phil Spencer from Xbox has also teased a nearing release, claiming that the wait is coming to an end.

Why it matters: While the original Hellblade was a multiplatform release from Ninja Theory, its sequel is one of the biggest first-party Xbox games in 2024.

Recently, Phil Spencer went to the Brazilian Comic Con Experience, where he shared plans about future Xbox titles. When asked what games he enjoyed this year, the Xbox boss replied with examples like Starfield.

He also shared his most anticipated title for 2024 and said:

“Hellblade 2. I love Ninja Theory as a studio. I love how that game is coming together.”

Microsoft had already confirmed that the game would be released in 2024. While an exact window remains to be revealed, Phil Spencer hinted that the game is coming sooner than expected and stated that fans would not have to wait much longer.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

Therefore, Hellblade 2 appears to be on track for an early or mid-2024 launch.

Recently, Ninja Theory alluded to Hellblade 2 being fully playable. This should mean that most of the work on this game has been wrapped up, and the studio is just adding the final touches.

Since Hellblade 2 was first revealed at The Game Awards, we expect it to show up with more gameplay at the event later this week. The game is arguably Microsoft’s biggest first-party release in the near future, and past work from Ninja Theory has been encouraging for Phil Spencer.
