Persona 3 Remake To Be Allegedly Revealed At Xbox Showcase

Reveal At Xbox Games Showcase!

In January, a leaker claimed that Persona 3 Remake was in development, but no official word had come from the developers. Recently, a domain registration hinted that the announcement might come very soon.

Another rumor has now surfaced about the remake, as a member of Resetera Im A Hero Too has an interesting claim. According to the leaker, Persona 3 Remake could be revealed at Xbox Game Showcase, which will be held on June 11.

Why it matters: Xbox has been looking to improve its relationship with Japanese developers. The Persona franchise is one of the most popular modern JRPG series, and a brand new reveal at the Xbox event could be huge for Microsoft.

Persona 3 Remake

Currently, there is little doubt that the remake is in development, as footage was also leaked a few months back. This, combined with a domain appearance and recent reports, makes a solid case for the remake.

Persona 3 Remake is expected to feature visuals similar to Persona 5, bringing the 2006 title up to par with modern JRPGs. The classic turn-based combat should also return, with a few tweaks and changes.

Looking at Microsoft’s history, the gaming giant has been working on integrating more Japanese games into its showcases. Last year, Xbox hosted Hideo Kojima at its major event.

Therefore, a reveal for a new remake from the Persona franchise does not seem too far-fetched. Still, it would still be best to take this leak with a slight pinch of salt.

Persona 3 was initially released on the PlayStation 2. Since then, it has seen multiple new releases, and Persona 3 Portable is currently available on modern consoles and PC. However, this version has various differences compared to the PlayStation 2 release.

The game has received much love from the fandom, and it gardened a vast fanbase who anticipate the remake. At the same time, Persona’s recent popularity would also encourage new players to try the potential remake for the first time.
