- Nvidia recently introduced its new consumer chips, RTX Spark, at Computex 2026.
- An analysis firm suggests that devices powered by N1X chips will cost $2,900.
- The chip is immensely powerful with a 20-core CPU and RTX 5070-level performance.
Nvidia just headlined Computex 2026 with its brand-new RTX Spark chips. For the first time, it looks like Windows laptops will be able to compete against MacBooks, with the help of the ARM architecture, but it will come at a cost.
A new report has revealed that Nvidia RTX Spark N1X laptops and PCs will cost a whopping $2,900 at least. While the lower-powered Spark N1 hardware could cost somewhere around $1,800, which is still quite hefty.
Why it matters: This is quite a substantial amount to pay for a laptop, considering Apple offers its M5 Pro lineup with a starting price of $2,100, and they have been the de facto standard for productivity for the longest time.

Morgan Stanley posted a report on the new RTX Spark chips, stating that the N1X-powered hardware will need to be priced at $2,900. However, even at that high price, some of its highs just can’t be ignored.
The RTX N1X chip is super powerful, packed with a 20-core Grace CPU, RTX 5070 with 6,144 CUDA cores, up to 128GB of LPDDR5X shared memory, 600GB bandwidth between CPU and GPU, and support for the full Nvidia software stack.

Now, while a similar spec MacBook will cost almost the same or less, an N1X laptop will deliver much higher graphical performance for gaming and on-device large-scale AI tasks, thanks to Nvidia’s advanced computing.
At the end, it all depends on the workload. For general video editing, productivity, and battery, a MacBook will be fine, but if you are running strong AI models, gaming, and more, N1X will be a better option even at this price.
