FromSoftware has finally shared more details on The Duskbloods. The latest previews also reveal how FromSoftware and Nintendo’s unexpected partnership came to be, which eventually led to exclusivity for the title.

As per director Hidetaka Miyazaki, Nintendo was more than just a publisher for the title.

Why it matters: FromSoftware has typically collaborated with PlayStation extensively in the past, but the gaming giant’s partnership with Nintendo has many excited for what is to come.

The Duskbloods Is Coming Soon

Speaking to IGN, Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that Nintendo helped FromSoftware during parts of The Duskbloods’ development, particularly around how the game introduces players to its systems.

The director admitted that FromSoftware has traditionally forced players to figure things out for themselves. However, Nintendo’s experience brought a level of accessibility to the experience that didn’t exist before.

Hidetaka Miyazaki also spoke about Nintendo’s excitement for The Duskbloods, which became the core reason behind the team pursuing exclusivity for this release. He explained that Nintendo’s feedback and ideas have been quite helpful throughout the process of making the game.

I think having someone who can constantly give us feedback, support, additional ideas, having this relationship is definitely key.
