Similar To Uncharted Naughty Dog Could Also Move On From The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us Part 2 Could Be The End!

Following the creation of world-famous franchises like Uncharted and The Last Of Us, Naughty Dog has emerged as one of the top video game developers in recent years. Their success has also benefited Sony as both of the franchises are PlayStation exclusives, thus pushing the PlayStation console’s sales higher.

In a recent interview with Buzzfeed, Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, revealed that the company has moved on from the Uncharted series and could do the same with The Last Of Us series.

Neil Druckmann said:

“For us, Uncharted was insanely successful — Uncharted 4 was one of our best selling games — and we’re able to put our final brushstroke on that story and say that we’re done. We’re moving on.”

He further stated:

“Likewise, with The Last of Us, it’s up to us whether we want to continue it or not.”

Despite the enormous popularity of The Last Of Us franchise, Neil Druckmann claimed that Sony would not pressure Naughty Dog to continue the Story of the Last Of Us series. He stated,

“just because something is successful, people think there’s all this pressure and we have to make a sequel. That’s not the case.”

Neil Druckmann claims that the process used to continue the Last Of Us series is the same as it was for The Last Of Us Part 2. If they can come up with a compelling tale, then they would continue the series; if not, then Neil Druckmann states that The Last Of Us Part 2 had a great end, and that would be it.

Some while ago, we heard a report about Last Of Us Part 3. Additionally, there have also been rumors of an Uncharted 5 being in development, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

This year has already been huge for the Last Of Us, as The Last Of Us Tv show has racked up huge numbers, receiving a lot of positive feedback, also spiking The Last Of Us game sales.

Furthermore, The Last Of Us Part 1 is scheduled to launch on March 3, 2023, for the PC platform, and a Multiplayer stand-alone game set in the Last Of Us universe has also been leaked.

So the possibility of The Last Of Us Part 3 seems very likely, but that is up to Naughty Dog to decide. We are excited about Naughty Dog’s next project and cannot wait to learn more.

On that note, what do you think about Naughty Dog moving on from Uncharted and potentially The Last of Us?
