Could Also Be For The Venom Spin-Off!

Story Highlight
  • Insomniac Games is already hiring for their next project.
  • A job listing we spotted suggests that the developers may be hiring for the next game in the Spider-Man franchise.
  • It could also be for the Venom Spin-off, which has been rumored to be in development for a long time.

Following the recent Insomniac Games leak, the studio has been quiet about its projects and even confirmed that it has no plans to share any news on Wolverine.

However, we spotted a job listing for the Senior Gameplay Animator that suggests the studio is hiring for the next open-world Spider-Man adventure. The job listing specifically points to work on open-world animations and hero traversal in the responsibilities section.

Why it matters: Spider-Man 3 has a lot of potential, and it could be released as a PS6 launch title if the developer starts working on it now.

Insomniac Job Listing Suggests A Spider-Man Game is In Development

Insomniac Games has recently started hiring for multiple positions, and the job listing for the Senior Gameplay Animator asks for experience in hero traversal, combat, boss, mission, and open-world animations.

Gameplay responsibilities include hero traversal, combat, boss, mission and open world animations at the highest level using advanced skills in game engine tools.

While these could also be for the Wolverine project, going by all the recent footage from the leaks, Wolverine appears to have a linear map.

Therefore, we believe the job listing is likely for the next Spider-Man entry, which is inevitable after last year’s great success. A recent report has also suggested that a canceled multiplayer Insomniac project may also return in Spider-Man 3.

However, the team could also be hiring for the Venom spin-off spotted in recent leaks since Venom’s gameplay from Spider-Man 2 could be explored further in an open-world setting. Still, we would bet on Spider-Man 3 between the two options for obvious reasons.

The next Spider-Man entry is still a few years away, as the studio is currently working on Wolverine, which is rumored to be coming next year. After the recent leaks, it is also possible that this particular superhero title may be delayed to 2026.

Overall, it’s great to see that Insomniac Games has potentially started hiring for Spider-Man 3. Since the expectations are already high, the team can use this early start to ensure it meets fan expectations.
