Xbox Previously Promised 10 Years of Halo Infinite!

Story Highlight
  • Halo Infinite is set to receive its last major content update with Operation Infinite.
  • The team will now focus on Campaign Evolved and other projects.
  • Fans can expect to learn more about these projects in the near future.

Xbox’s biggest IP has begun its new era following the announcement of Halo Campaign Evolved, a remake of the series’ very first entry. At the same time, Halo Studios is said to be working on other things for the future of the IP.

To accommodate all the new projects, the team has confirmed some disappointing information regarding Halo Infinite. As per the developers, Halo Infinite’s journey has come to an end.

Why it matters: Xbox previously promised 10 years of support for Halo Infinite, pitching it as an ever-evolving platform for fans of the IP.

Discussing the future of Halo during the November Community Livestream, Halo Studios confirmed that the team is now focused on future projects.

These include the upcoming remake and another yet-to-be-announced title. This focus also means that Halo Infinite’s upcoming update is set to be its last major one as far as new content is concerned.

This upcoming Halo Infinite update will be our last planned major content release.

As for what Operation Infinite brings to the table, Halo Studios will add new armor sets and playlists to the game. The update itself seems to be fairly light on content, and many fans have been upset at this being the last major update for Halo Infinite.

The First Entry Is Being Remade In Unreal Engine 5

According to the developers, most of the studio’s resources and time will now be devoted to Halo Campaign Evolved. With the series’ 25th anniversary coming up next year, the team is doing its best to make it one to remember for the fans.
