The Game Is Not Holding Back On Immersion.

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 will feature built-in social media apps that players can access through the in-game phone.
  • These networks will allow you to consume content, follow creators, and find missions.
  • A glimpse at this feature was showcased in the game’s first trailer.

With pre-orders finally open, GTA 6 is set to release on consoles this November after multiple delays. Ever since the game’s price reveal, hype for the title has gone through the roof, with players even preferring to buy the more expensive $100 ultimate edition of the game.

Despite all the screenshots Rockstar has dropped, however, players are still clamoring for some gameplay to get a look at some of the new features in GTA 6. Before that happens, the title’s Amazon listing has leaked some of the new additions to the sequel, including a dedicated social media network.

Why it matters: Built-in social media apps are just a glimpse at how realistic and immersive Leonida will be in GTA 6.

According to the Amazon Brazil listing of GTA 6, the open-world title will feature integrated social networks that you can access from your in-game mobile phone. According to the listing, social media apps will let you consume content, watch viral videos, and follow influencers just like in the real world.

Furthermore, these in-game networks will also help the player discover side missions scattered throughout the large map of GTA 6. In the first trailer of the open-world title, fans did get a glimpse at how these social media apps would function, with Jason seeing clips of several NPCs living everyday life in the fictional state of Leonida.

Hence, Rockstar is adding another layer of immersion to the series by making social networks native to GTA 6. Fans have been debating how realistic the upcoming title will be, with some suggesting that Rockstar should add a fuel system to improve immersion.

With the company promising that the realism in GTA 6 will blow people away, it’s hard to write anything off, especially with dedicated social media apps built into the game.
