The report also states that GTA 5 is the best-selling game of the previous decade in the US. This puts the iconic game ahead of franchises like Call of Duty, which have seen multiple new entries in recent years.

Furthermore, the Grand Theft Auto franchise has also crossed a colossal milestone, achieving over 395 million copies sold. With entries like GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, and more, fans have enjoyed the franchise for several gaming generations.

Take-Two has also commented on the success of GTA Online. The online mode for GTA 5 has been a massive contributor to the game’s current success, and Rockstar continues to support the game with new updates and content.

Looking ahead, Rockstar officially confirmed GTA 6 last year. The next entry in the franchise is shaping up to be among the most anticipated games of all time, and the entire industry is waiting for its first look at GTA 6.
