Gotham Knights To Join PS Plus Extra This Month

Finally Time To Play Gotham Knights?

Gotham Knights is one of the most recent entries in the up-and-coming genre of superhero games. Following the Batman Arkham franchise, the game faced the tall order of living up to this legacy, but it failed in more than one way.

WB Games Montreal introduced a massive map, among other new mechanics, but the game was held back by poor gameplay and technical issues. Such problems made it one of the most disappointing releases of 2022.

Following a disappointing run, the game appears to be making its way to subscription services. Reliable leaker Billbil-kun reports that the game is coming to PS Plus soon.

Why it matters: The subscription service release may be the studio’s last chance to bring new players to Gotham Knights.

Billbil-kun has continued to provide accurate details about PS Plus games for many months, leaving little doubt about the latest update.

The leaker has revealed that around 20 titles will be added to PS Plus Extra and Premium, with the official announcement planned for 11 October, followed by the 17 October release.

Notable games arriving on the service include Gotham Knights, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, Alien Isolation, and Dead Island Definitive Edition. While the DC superhero game may not be the greatest on the list, it may catch the most attention.

We believe DC’s characters are still relevant in the industry despite the lack of many good games featuring these characters. Therefore, Gotham Knights will immediately encourage players to try the game.

Apart from PS Plus, Gotham Knights was recently added to Xbox Game Pass. Therefore, the recent moves appear to be a massive push for the game, with the studio possibly hoping to find renewed interest through these services.

Gotham Knights

For those looking forward to the game, Gotham Knights is among the few current-generation titles without a 60FPS mode on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.

Despite these flaws, the game has the potential to provide several hours of fun through multiple characters, online co-op, and more.

In addition to the subscription release, Gotham Knights may be headed to the Nintendo Switch following a recent rating. On the subject of DC Games, Rocksteady Studios was expected to launch Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League this year, but the game was delayed.

Therefore, this co-op game featuring the Bat family may provide the perfect opportunity to keep fans engaged as they wait for the creators of Batman Arkham to finish their next project.
