- Santa Monica is reportedly working on God of War Greek Saga remastered versions.
- The remasters will allegedly include multiple games of the Greek era including Ascension.
- They may be announced in March 2025 with Nixxes at the helm.
God of War is one of the best franchises ever to grace the gaming industry. It has everything from memorable characters to great storylines and more. Now, a new report suggests the classic God of War Greek Saga is set to return with multiple remasters.
Why it matters: Many fans still consider the classic games to be the best work Santa Monica has ever done. And ever since Sony delved into the remasters or remakes, the God of War trilogy has always been highly demanded by the fans.
According to the leaker, Lunatic Ignus, multiple remasters of the original God of War games are in the works. They took to their Discord to reveal the information along with a March 2025 announcement for the remasters.
However, the report explicitly states that these are ‘remasters’. So, we can expect them to not be built from the ground up. Instead, they could just be enhanced versions of the original games with new graphics fidelity and more features.
God of War Ascension is also reported to get the same treatment as well. The game isn’t a part of the original trilogy but acts as the prequel to the franchise. The remasters are said to be handled by Santa Monica Studio in collaboration with Nixxes.
Next year also marks the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise. So, we can expect some new information. Reports also point to a new game in the franchise to be announced soon as well.
Nonetheless, while Ignus has leaked stuff previous stuff accurately, take this news with a grain of salt. But, if the news is indeed true, we will have to wait almost a year to learn about the remasters officially.
