- Ghost of Tsushima is finally available on PC four years after its PS4 debut.
- The game is now Sony’s fourth-biggest PC release, just behind Helldivers 2, God of War, and Spider-Man.
- While it currently stands at 58K concurrent players, the player count should rise over the weekend.
PC fans have long waited for Ghost of Tsushima, a PlayStation exclusive. After four years, the game is finally on PC, but the majority of the audience will not be able to play it because Sony decided to delist the port from over 100 countries.
However, this seems to have been a small setback. Ghost of Tsushima became Steam’s best-selling game one day before launch, and it has instantly become one of Sony’s biggest releases on the platform today.
Why it matters: Ghost of Tsushima isn’t available in more than 50% of the world, yet it is performing extremely well on the PC platform.
Ghost of Tsushima has managed to attain 57,934 concurrent players on Steam at release.
This is beyond what we expected, as the game has been delisted in most countries. Also, many fans were planning a boycott, and many claimed to be preparing to review bomb the port at launch.
However, nearly 80% of the reviews are positive. Moreover, Ghost of Tsushima is now Sony’s 4th biggest PC port. In terms of single-player games, it lands in the top 3, finishing behind God of War and Spider-Man Remastered.
To nobody’s surprise, Helldivers 2 remains the biggest PC port from PlayStation.
It is also important to note that Ghost of Tsushima has likely not peaked yet. With the weekend approaching, it could finish among PlayStation’s three biggest PC games.
This performance is impressive since the game was delisted in so many regions. Had it stayed up in the 100+ countries, it could have easily challenged God of War for the second position.
Many fans were awaiting this release, so the delisting likely had a noticeable impact on the concurrent player counts. However, this result shows that there is still incredible demand for Sony’s work on the platform.
Perhaps a proper launcher is the best solution for the future, with the recent PSN integration marking the first step toward a PlayStation ecosystem on PC.
