Still Going Strong After 2 Years!

When thinking about modern racing games, Forza Horizon is one of the first names to come to mind. The franchise has quickly become one of the most prominent arcade racers today, with the latest entry in the IP reaching new milestones frequently.

Forza Horizon 5 is the IP’s latest offering, which was released in 2021. Since then, millions of players have raced through the streets of Mexico, and the game has just reached its biggest milestone recently.

Forza Horizon 5 has officially surpassed 34 million players.

Why it matters: This is an incredible milestone for a racing game only available on Xbox and PC, showing the current popularity of Microsoft’s flagship arcade racer.

Forza Horizon 5 took just two months to reach 15 million players after its November 2021 release. Then, it accumulated 20 million players in June 2022.

Evidently, the game has slowed down since then, but it continues to be a popular racing game of choice for millions of players. Despite its popularity on Xbox and Game Pass, thousands of players are also active in the game on Steam.

As per SteamDB, over 11K players are active in the game currently. This figure is much higher than Microsoft’s latest release, Forza Motorsport, which appears to be falling behind its arcade racing counterpart.

Forza Horizon 5 was also seen above Forza Motorsport on Xbox recently. This, along with the latest milestone of 34 million players, is a testament to the fun and engaging nature of Playground Games’ latest release.

Forza Horizon 5

We are not surprised by this incredible feat since the racing game is easily one of Microsoft’s best first-party releases this generation.

With highly detailed visuals, a diverse map, and satisfying racing mechanics, Forza Horizon 5 never fails to impress. We have found ourselves spending hours in PlayGround Games’ rendition of Mexico very often, and it is great to see new players joining the game to this day.

Following this release, Playground Games is working on Fable, with the studio showcasing the game for the first time earlier this year. Therefore, another entry in the arcade racing series is unlikely to arrive soon. Fortunately, Forza Horizon 5 is still an excellent game to play today.
