Ex Forza Horizon 5 Leads Forming New AAA Game Studio

The New Studio Is Working On AAA Open-World Title

Forza Horizon 5, launched in 2021, was the biggest launch in Xbox history. The game reached more than 10 million players in the first week, and the number increased to 20 million later. This shows how much great effort the leads put into this game.

Recently, some hints revealed that the development of Forza Horizon 6 is the franchise’s last game. And now it seems like we know the reason as Forza Horizon 5 creative directive and several other team members have left Xbox’s Playground Games to form a new AAA studio, Maverick Games.

It has also been confirmed that the studio is based in Leamington Spa and is already working on a new game. The game will be an open-world title for consoles and PC. There has been no confirmation whether the game will fall in the racing genre.

The aim of this studio is to be loved by people and make ultra-high quality titles for the fans, as Mike Brown said:

“Our goal is for Maverick Games to be a studio people will love, for players, we’re already at work on an exciting ultra-high quality title, and for developers,

we’re building a home where everyone is encouraged to take risks, be curious, be creative, be innovative, be themselves, and above all – be a Maverick.”

Brown and the team didn’t leave Playground Games with regrets as Brown said Forza Horizon 5 was a thrill to work on. But as he was having fun, he was getting more ambitious, and as soon as the opportunity arose, he took it. He said:

“This opportunity came up. I was asked what my vision would be for a new studio…and it was lucky I had an idea in mind.”

Maverick Games consist of an ambitious team, and they are already working on an open-world title that might fall into the racing genre. We don’t have any official information regarding this new game, although soon, some information about the game might be revealed by Maverick Games.

Aside from that, what do you think of this new studio? Will the new AAA open-world game live up to the standards? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
