Elden Ring On A Handheld, Finally!

Story Highlight
  • Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on June 5th 2025, as revealed in the recent direct.
  • The console will support 120 FPS and 4k but with a dock.
  • Elden Ring has also been announced to release on this highly anticipated handheld.

Souls games haven’t been available on the Nintendo Switch, and that may have upset some of the fandom. However, the switch’s hardware would not have handled the game, given that consoles like PS5 can’t provide optimal performance for it.

That said, the same cannot be said for the upcoming Switch 2. Due to the leap in the hardware, Souls fans should rejoice at the news that the famous Elden Ring is coming to handheld consoles.

Why it matters: No Souls game except Dark Souls Remastered is available on the Nintendo Switch, which is great news for the genre’s fans.

Nintendo Switch 2 Will Be Released Worldwide On June 5th

Just recently, during the Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the upcoming handheld will support 120 FPS and 4k with a dock. The console will also be released on June 5, 2025.

It is actually a great move by Nintendo to release one of the best open-world games on the upcoming handheld. Not many Souls games have been released on handhelds, so it can boost sales.

While the announcement didn’t reveal whether the DLC would be released, one can assume it would be part of the full release. The tarnished edition will be released soon after the console hits the market.

Unfortunately, there is no news about the Elden Ring Nightreign appearing on the handheld. The base game took over three years to release, so fans may have to wait a bit more to see this battle royale version on their preferred console.
