BioWare Will Return In 2024!

Story Highlights
  • The last entry in the Dragon Age franchise came out in 2014.
  • A developer’s LinkedIn profile suggests Dragon Age: Dreadwolf may be released next year.
  • Recently, a popular leaker revealed a similar release window for the game.

The Dragon Age franchise has been inactive for nearly a decade, as the last game came out in 2014. However, BioWare’s next game is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, marking a return to this IP.

While early gameplay of the title has been leaked online, official information remains limited. A release date is also yet to be confirmed, but a developer’s LinkedIn profile suggests the game is scheduled for 2024.

Why it matters: Dragon Age is integral to BioWare’s history as a renowned RPG developer. The developer has done excellent work on this IP in the past, and many are hopeful that Dreadwolf will be a return to form for the series.

This release window was spotted on Kevin Scott’s LinkedIn profile, who is currently a Senior Cinematic Animator at EA. The developer has worked on various EA franchises, including Dragon Age.

While mentioning Dragon Age: Dreadwolf on his profile, Kevin Scott wrote:

“Animated gameplay characters for Dragon Age: DreadWolf (2024 release).”

Recently, a popular leaker has also suggested that the game will be released next year after the summer period. However, the leaker warned that it could be delayed beyond this window.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been in the works for a few years. First announced in 2018, this game is described as a massive project for BioWare, which was already in the Alpha stage as of 2022 and playable from start to finish.

Therefore, taking this information and the leaks into consideration, a 2024 release sounds like a safe bet.

Dragon Age Game Reveal

After the recent failures of BioWare, the studio will likely take its time with the latest Dragon Age entry. Since this is the studio’s first game after it disappointed with Anthem, the developer has a lot to make up for.

The RPG genre is doing better than ever today, and the industry is excited to see Dragon Age returning after many years.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will take players back to Thedas, where new adventures and threats await. Therefore, there is a lot of excitement for new and returning elements of the RPG series, and we cannot wait to learn more next year.
