Death Stranding has proven to be one of the most popular exclusives for the PlayStation ecosystem. However, after years of patience and speculations, Kojima Productions has now shadow-dropped the whole game on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.

Many fans thought that we would see a formal announcement and marketing before such a huge launch, so no one was expecting such a massive surprise.

Why it matters: Death Stranding, releasing on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PC, has caught everyone in the community off-guard.

As announced officially on Twitter by Kojima Productions, Xbox Series X|S users can now grab the game for as cheap as 50% off in a special limited-time sale. The deal is meant to stir Xbox owners to grab the game as soon as possible. 

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC includes HIGH FRAME RATE, PHOTO MODE and ULTRA-WIDE MONITOR SUPPORT.

The studio also announced that Death Stranding now has over 19 million porters that have ventured into the world of the eponymous game. That’s not all; in another gargantuan surprise, the IP now also belongs solely to Kojima Productions instead of Sony.

While rumors of Death Stranding 2 being released on both consoles and PC have already started floating around, it’s worth mentioning that nothing of the sort has directly been implied by the developers. So, do take the info with a grain of salt.
