Count Dracula Could Be Making A Spooky Comeback!

Story Highlight
  • Castlevania is getting a new AAA title, according to rumors.
  • This game will be revealed in 2025 but nothing else is known.
  • The franchise has sold over 20 million copies globally.

One of the most legendary vampire-based gaming IPs, Castlevania, has been out of the picture for quite some time. However, if rumors are true, the classic Konami franchise is set to make a comeback with a reveal expected as early as 2025.

Why it matters: Castlevania is one of the biggest names in classic gaming and the franchise has been out of action for over a decade so a return for the IP is very exciting.

Castlevania
The action-adventure game series is one of gaming’s pioneers

According to the website Geekinout, Castlevania is set to make a return very soon with a new AAA game in the series being in development. In addition, Konami is going to announce the release of this title in 2025, meaning fans won’t have to wait long to hear news about the title.

There is no concrete info about this new Castlevania title yet, however, as the developer is still in the air. Konami previously worked with MercurySteam and the Spanish studio is working on two unannounced games right now.

Hence, one of them can be the new Castlevania as the other title is confirmed to be a RPG for 505 Games. All in all, it’s good to see the classic Konami franchise make a return as the last major entry in the series was over a decade ago in 2014 in the form of Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2.

Castlevania
Castlevania’s anime has kept the franchise alive in the absence of video games

The Vampire-based video game series is one of gaming’s most well-known IPs, selling over 20 million copies and becoming an essential part of the industry’s culture. With Konami revealing that more remakes like Metal Gear Solid are in the works, one can only assume that Castlevania is getting the same treatment.
