Battlefield 6 has been the talk of the town as EA is finally making a comeback following the disappointing reception of the last two entries, particularly Battlefield 2042. Battlefield 6 is finally a true return to form for the series, promising the authentic military experience that has been missing for years.
Just a day before the full launch, the review embargo for the game has been lifted. If anything, the reviewers have been praising the game from top to bottom, aside from the underwhelming campaign that shouldn’t be a dealbreaker at all.
Why it matters: The Battlefield franchise has been long overdue for a comeback and has a lot to prove to its fans. Fortunately, they have redeemed themselves and carved an optimistic future for the series.
Currently, Battlefield 6 holds a generally favorable score of 83 on Metacritic. This represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, which achieved a subpar score of 67 on the same platform.

Military FPS games have high standards and require a lot of quality elements to please fans. Fortunately, Battlefield 6 has managed to do exactly that, with reviewers praising it as a true return to the series’ roots and evoking the same ‘wow’ factor that earlier games in the series did.
Multiplayer mode is where the game truly shines, delivering an outstanding, grounded experience that will keep players hooked for hours. The revamped class modes work absolutely well, and there is are ton of variety with different modes such as large-scale battles or cramped team deathmatches.
Visually, Battlefield 6 is jaw-dropping, and EA’s proprietary DICE engine truly manages to shine here. Performance-wise, the game is also quite lenient on hardware, with up to 120 FPS modes offered on consoles.
That said, Battlefield 6 does have its flaws, specifically the game’s campaign mode. Single-player mode returns, but it isn’t a shock value. Most of the plot details are clichéd, and reviewers even call it an attempt to copy CoD. However, after seeing the reviews, EA’s FPS is way ahead of the competition.
