Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 is launching sooner than we thought, with EA planning to release it sometime during the 2026 fiscal year.
  • EA’s current fiscal year is ending this coming March, suggesting we’ll get the game before April 2026.
  • Meanwhile, EA has also launched a new playtest initiative, Battlefield Labs, to playtest the game as it is refined.

EA has a lot to prove with the next Battlefield after the last few mess-ups in the franchise, with Battlefield 2042 proving to be one of the biggest disastrous launches in recent gaming history. However, EA has managed to get the fans excited again, with a first look into Battlefield 6.

Now, the company has gone as far as to confirm a launch window for Battlefield 6 in its latest financial report. EA is planning to release the game sometime during the 2026 fiscal year, which begins next month.

Why it matters: Battlefield 6 is already in the pre-alpha stage, and now we can expect it to be released within a 12-month release window unless there’s a delay.

Battlefield 6 playtests will begin soon with a select few gamers invited by EA.

As per EA’s latest earning report, we can expect Battlefield 6 to launch globally before April 2026 rolls around, which would be the end of FY2026 for the company. So, unless there’s a delay, we will see the game go from pre-alpha to the final version within the span of a year.

EA unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing player-driven testing and innovation
ahead of the franchise’s expected fiscal year 2026 release.

This confirmation shows that EA is quite confident in the four studios—along with BioWare’s assistance—that are developing various aspects of Battlefield 6. Although, over 98% of these devs have reportedly not worked on a past Battlefield title.
