In the days to follow, the CRPG lost players, but average user counts remained surprisingly high. According to Larian Studios, several months after release, the game still averages over 500K daily players.

Even rivals like Starfield have suffered a massive decline in player counts, putting Baldur’s Gate 3 ahead. Recently, the platform has seen highly successful launches like Palworld and Helldivers 2.
Amid a slew of games to choose from, it appears many have found themselves returning to the intricate world of Baldur’s Gate 3. A major reason for this success has been Larian Studios’ commitment to post-launch support.
The developer has constantly updated the game in the last six months. Yesterday, the team announced official mod support, which will extend to elements like the UI, spells, customization, and more gameplay mechanics.
To further enhance modding, Larian Studios plans to introduce cross-platform support. These features serve as additional reasons to play what is considered the new bar for CRPGs today.
