Classic AC Gameplay Is Back!

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the first entry in the Assassin’s Creed series after 3 years of hiatus, is one of the most awaited games of 2023. The game was first announced in 2022 on the franchise’s 15th anniversary, and audiences have been waiting for gameplay since then.

Besides the reveal, there is not much additional information regarding the game. However, a short gameplay video of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage has allegedly been leaked by a French Youtuber on his Discord channel.

Why It Matters: Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to bring back the classic gameplay that made the franchise so popular. But the lack of gameplay information and recent rumors about potential delays has worried fans about the state of the game.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage

The alleged gameplay depicts the protagonist, Basim, traversing the open city of Baghdad, featuring lush tropical trees in the surroundings. The physics showcased in the leaked footage exhibits impressive detail in the assassin’s robes.

The running animation of the game appears to be very similar to that of Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It makes sense, considering Assassin’s Creed Mirage is built on the same engine as the previous RPG titles. Mirage was also initially a DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but later became a stand-alone title.

The French YouTuber also leaked some gameplay details about the game. According to him, the game’s core should feel similar to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the gameplay would be reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed Origins without the RPG elements.

The game’s main story is expected to last between 10-15 hours, and it was mentioned that the game would not feature any mythological elements, except for the inclusion of Djinns, who will serve as the game’s main villains.

The leak shows just a tiny snippet of gameplay, and we hope to see an official gameplay reveal at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward showcase.

Previously, it was also revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the first game to launch on the Infinity platform, which will serve as a hub for all future Assassin’s Creed games moving forward.

The game does not have a proper release date, but multiple sources and rumors have pointed toward an August 2023 release.
