Alone in the Dark is a nearly three-decades-old survival horror franchise. While the last game from the franchise came out in 2015, the franchise is finally returning with a remake soon.
The remake of the first title in the Alone in the Dark franchise is just three months away from release. With the release date drawing nearer, the developers have revealed more information about the game.
A recent interview discusses the length of the game. According to the developers, Alone in the Dark would offer up to 20 hours of playtime.
Why it matters: This year has been a treat for horror genre fans. Games like Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space have returned in 2023. Future games like Alone in the Dark are also very exciting.
During a recent interview with Gamingbolt, a Pieces Interactive developer reiterated that the game would have two playable protagonists, and both would have different outlooks on the story.
While talking about the playtime of each campaign, the developer stated:
“We target a playtime of 6-10 hours for one campaign.”
The developer went on to say that players are expected to play the game twice for the complete experience. Combining the lengths of both campaigns, Alone in the Dark has around 20 hours of content for players.
The Pieces Interactive developer also stated that they are committed to the franchise in the long run and will explore more opportunities if the game receives a positive reception from fans and critics.
Following up on iconic horror games like Dead Space, Alone in the Dark has big shoes to fill. However, the studio’s enthusiasm for the IP could mean that the series turns out to be an exceptional addition to the horror genre in 2023.
