Elden Ring has taken the video game world by storm. FromSoftware’s newest release has garnered universal praise from critics and fans alike. The title has redefined expectations when it comes to the open-world gameplay formula, and Elden Ring has also been a huge financial success for the Japanese developer.
Not only did the game manage to sell a whopping 12 million copies less than a month after release, it also topped Steam charts for six weeks in a row. It seems like the game has continued this momentum, despite newer video game releases over the last few weeks.
Bandai Namco’s newest earning release has revealed some interesting information about Elden Ring. The game has shipped over 13.4 million units worldwide.
This isn’t too surprising. Elden Ring has been FromSoftware’s most well-received game to date. Despite FromSoftware games’ reputation for being incredibly punishing, the title has seen a huge number of newcomers to the Souls genre. Moreover, the game has managed to successfully introduce the genre to a much wider audience than before.
Interestingly, Elden Ring’s PC port still remains a bit underwhelming in terms of optimization. Despite the bad press surrounding the PC release, the game has managed to sustain a large player base on the platform. As of today, Elden Ring has been able to sustain a player count of just above 150,000 over the last 30 days on the PC platform.
FromSoftware’s recent release has certainly become their best-selling product to date. The game’s success is a testament to FromSoftware’s dedication and excellence as a developer. Elden Ring has something to offer for everybody. Both franchise veterans and newcomers are likely to find different aspects of the game entertaining and enjoyable.
While video game giants like Call of Duty: Vanguard have struggled to sustain their sales numbers, Elden Ring has broken all records for the Souls genre, and it seems like this trend won’t be coming to an end anytime soon.
