The Samsung Galaxy S23 series, presumably dubbed Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 projected to be Samsung’s next flagship phone lineup for 2023. Although the Galaxy S23 series is almost a year away at this point, new leaks and rumors have started emerging.
Following are some of the presumed specifications of the base Samsung Galaxy S23 series:
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
- Qualcomm X70 5G modem
- 200MP Galaxy S23 ultra camera
- 108MP Galaxy S23/S23+ camera sensor
- Quad-curved “waterfall” display design
- 10Hz-120Hz LTPO displays on the Galaxy S23/S23+
- Android 13 with One UI 5 on top
Another significant step up from the current generation will be the battery capacity. The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are equipped with 3700mAh, 4500mAh, and 5000mAh, respectively. According to a famous leaker and insider of the mobile phone industry Anthony, these have been increased to 4500mAh, 5000mAh, and 5500mAh for S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. However, the significant increase in the battery density difference is due to the new process on which these new batteries are based.
A summary of the previous two tweets:
The Galaxy S23 series will Introduce a new battery layer stacking technology which increases the density of the batteries.

The Galaxy S22 series, after vigorous testing, has disappointed in the battery department. Both its standby and screen-on time have been easily lesser compared to the competition. Samsung now has decided to shift the battery to a new diamond process. This new process will reportedly increase the battery densities, which will help in better efficiency. So, the increased capacity and better density of the batteries is Samsung’s answer to this generation’s disappointing battery life.
Although, the number looks promising. But without testing, there is no way to validate that the batteries will perform better than the S22 series. Also, according to a lot of testing S22 series are is providing the gaming experience that is expected of a top-end phone. Although the experience is satisfactory it is nothing like a highest-end flagship. So, we will see how the new processors perform as well. The expected prices for the Galaxy S23 series are $799 for the S23 base variant and $1199 for S23 Ultra. The expected on-paper specs of the S23 series with their 200MP cameras, X70 5G modems, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and better batteries have already excited us, and we are looking forward to the phone.
