- Phantom Blade Zero has generated over $223 million in revenue on Steam and PS5 combined.
- The game achieved this milestone within a week after launch, despite skipping an Xbox release.
- It has sold over 4.3 million copies, with Steam taking a massive 72.6% of the total share.
Phantom Blade Zero has been a juggernaut of a release this year, becoming the best-reviewed Chinese title ever based on Metacritic scores and selling over 4 million copies three days after launch. As a result, many critics consider it one of the strongest GOTY contenders.
A new report reveals it has now sold over 4.3 million units in five days, earning $223 million in revenue on Steam and PS5 combined. Phantom Blade Zero is 2026’s #10th new game by premium revenue across Steam, PS5, and Xbox, even without an Xbox release.
Why it matters: Phantom Blade Zero has been a staggering success for S-Game, once again proving that the emerging Chinese AAA industry is a real rival to the West. The latter often plays it safe, focusing on profits with high-budget releases that lack innovation and fun.

Alinea Analytics also reports that Steam secured a huge chunk of 72.6% of total 4.3 million sales, with 3.1 million units. In contrast, the PS5 earned a 27.4% share with 1.2 million units sold.
Additionally, the game has done incredibly well in the West, even compared to Chinese regions. China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong drove more unit sales, with a 55% total share. However, it only earned 45% of Phantom Blade Zero’s total revenue.
The game is significantly cheaper in China than in the Western markets. A US copy costs $60 a pop, while you can find the game around $40 in Chinese regions. In other words, each Chinese sale contributed less revenue despite strong unit sales.

However, Alinea Analytics adds that Phantom Blade Zero cements itself among the year’s top premium game launches by revenue even if sales from Chinese regions are excluded.
Phantom Blade Zero saw a flood of sales from Western gamers once reviews started pouring in, while the IP’s sales presence was strong from the pre-order period in Chinese regions.
