- CDPR previously hired two developers who worked on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
- The studio has now hired a third dev from Warhorse, adding another from the studio.
- The production on The Witcher 4 is ramping up despite its planned 2028 launch.
If there’s one game that has the potential to break the internet and get close to GTA 6’s hype, that is The Witcher 4. CDPR announced the game back at The Game Awards 2024 and later revealed that it is targeting a 2028 release.
It seems that the studio wants all the best talent in the industry on the title, since CDPR has now hired a third developer from the Kingdom Come studio, Warhorse, and the game’s production is ramping up.
Why it matters: It won’t be wrong to call The Witcher 3 one of the most influential RPGs of all time, and with the sequel, the studio wants to take everything up a notch, and they’re deploying as many resources as they can.

Zybnek Zelinka, who was the Lead Technical Designer at Warhorse Studios, recently left the company and joined CD Projekt Red as a Senior Gameplay Designer. This is the third instance of a similar move.
The studio previously hired Karel Kolman and Zdeněk Glatz, both of whom worked on KCD2 at Warhorse Studios. So, it seems that the company has become quite fond of KCD2 directors and wants them for its flagship title.

The title is still a couple of years away, but the excitement is already surging. It features Ciri as the protagonist, but will involve Geralt as well. For fans who can’t wait, CDPR also has a new The Witcher 3 DLC for next year.

Abdullah is an avid gamer who primarily plays single-player titles. If you can’t find him anywhere, he’ll probably be at his desk playing The Witcher 3 for the millionth time. When he isn’t playing games, he’s either reading or writing about them.
