Multiple rumors suggested that Nvidia’s RTX 60 series was aiming for a late 2027 to 2028 release window as the memory crisis got worse over the last few months. However, it seems that Nvidia is planning for a much earlier launch than expected.
The company is reportedly aiming to launch the RTX 60 series and the gaming Rubin architecture in the first half of 2027. There have reportedly been concrete milestones in place, and Nvidia has greenlit the H1 2027 launch window for months now.
Why it matters: Nvidia is aiming for a 2027 launch window for RTX 60 cards instead of waiting for the memory apocalypse to subside over the next few years. Therefore, their starting prices could be exorbitant considering what we’ve seen with the 50xx GPUs so far.
The reliable industry hardware insider Moore’s Law Is Dead revealed in a video that his source from within Nvidia has confirmed the 2027 launch window.

At the same time, not much is known about the next generation of RTX cards because Nvidia has really clamped down on leaks this time around.
The little detail Moore’s Law Is Dead managed to learn from various sources is that the top configuration in the Rubin architecture, namely the RTX 6090, will have something interesting about its physical design that sets it apart from the previous flagship generations.
It’s unclear whether it’s going with a chiplet design for the 6090 or highly AI-oriented hardware, but we may learn more via leakers as the launch of Rubin architecture draws closer.
Previous leaks also revealed that RTX 60 will have a 35% performance boost and 2x ray tracing capabilities over Blackwell architecture.
