- Rockstar has confirmed that the GTA 6 map is going to be enormous in size.
- It will be twice the size of GTA 5, and triple the size of Red Dead Redemption 2.
- Vice City alone is nearly double the size of GTA 5’s main city, Los Santos.
The first look at GTA 6 was an absolute treat to the eyes and a valid testament to why Rockstar took so many years to develop the next entry in the series. While we knew the game would be huge, it actually will be humongous.
It has been confirmed that the GTA 6 map spans 2x the size of GTA 5, which was already massive, and a bonkers 3x that of Red Dead Redemption 2. If it wasn’t clear, this shows how massive the scope is.
Why it matters: The studio is known for enormous maps and massive scales, but this time they’ve outdone themselves. Additionally, from what we’ve seen, the map also seems to be pretty fleshed out.
YouTuber TGG has revealed some new details about GTA 6, including its map. Apart from the overall giant size, Vice City alone is twice the size of Los Santos. We also have a much greater variety of areas to explore.
With massive open-world games like this, the concern always comes down to the fact that the world might feel too empty. This, for now, doesn’t seem to be the case with GTA 6, which seems to have a lot going on.

This means that the exploration will likely be a lot of fun. The NPCs are also a highlight, and there are over 600,000 animations, which will undoubtedly make the world more lively and add to the immersion.
