- Take-Two has lost about $1 billion in paper value within a single day.
- The company’s shares have dropped by 2.21% following the massive GTA 6 leaks.
- Each share is closing at $237 compared to last day’s $242, a decline of $5.36 per share.
GTA 6 has experienced another wave of leaks, barely a week away from the Netflix extended look reveal. These reveals threaten to uproot the anticipation that fans have built for the game over the years, and they are also affecting Rockstar and Take-Two pretty negatively.
A look into Take-Two Interactive’s open market trading reveals that the company has suffered a pretty devastating aftershock, likely heavily influenced by these leaks. It has lost nearly $1 billion (~$980 million to be exact) in paper value within a single trading day.
Why it matters: GTA 6 gameplay’s premature reveals are the most devastating leak Take-Two has faced yet, and it is now also affecting the company’s market performance. More leaks could further devalue the company’s shares in the following days.

Take-Two’s latest trading session shows that its shares have dropped by 2.21% in a single day. This is around the same time massive GTA 6 leaks have been coming out, as the leaker appears to have no plans to slow down.
The chart shows a closing price of $237.04, while the previous close sat at $242.40. Therefore, today’s session has ended with a notable decline of $5.36 per share.
To add more context, the company’s shares have fallen from $249 (August 17) to $237 (today), which is a 4.8% decline after the GTA 6 leaks began circulating. Take-Two has been quick to issue DMCA strikes against the leaks, but mirror videos of them keep appearing online.

Another reason Take-Two’s market value dipped is the earnings guidance shortfall; Wall Street expected Take-Two to project $8.8 billion in fiscal 2027 bookings, while the firm only projected $8.0-$8.2 billion instead.
Regardless, both Rockstar and Take-Two have not yet issued any statements about the GTA 6 leaks so far.
On a side note, the hacker has implied that they have a playable build of the game in one of the latest leaks. He’s also reportedly made good money, as fans continue to pay the equivalent of GTA 6’s price for the leaks.
