Another Huge Remake Coming Up For Capcom?

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil Veronica has crossed 2 million wishlists.
  • The milestone has arrived well ahead of the remake’s reported 2027 launch window.
  • Judging by the wishlists and excitement, Capcom may have another explosive remake on its hands.

Capcom announced its latest upcoming remake, Resident Evil Veronica, just a few months ago. Since then, not much has been shared about the title, except for rumors about a potential difficulty spike compared to Resident Evil 2.

Anyhow, fans remain quite excited for the title. Capcom has also confirmed a major wishlist milestone for the remake.

Why it matters: Fans have been asking Capcom to revisit Code Veronica for the longest time, and now that the Japanese publisher is doing so, it appears fans are turning up in huge numbers.

According to the official Resident Evil account on X, Resident Evil Veronica has passed 2 million wishlists. This confirms that the survival-horror revival has already pulled in a large number of interested players before release.

The milestone is commendable since Resident Evil Veronica launches later next year, which means Capcom has yet to pick up the pace with the game’s marketing and promotional efforts.

Further gameplay videos and trailers will only increase anticipation for the remake. At this rate, the title could end up rivaling the best of Capcom’s modern releases in terms of commercial performance.

Capcom plans to release Resident Evil games annually

To mark the occasion, Capcom has thanked the fans for continuing to support Resident Evil Veronica.

The Japanese gaming giant is moving forward with a greater focus on the series in general, so it will be glad to see continued enthusiasm and no signs of fatigue when it comes to the iconic IP.

What are you hoping Capcom shows next for Resident Evil Veronica? Let’s discuss in the comments below.
