- Stellar Blade will come to Xbox, but the team needs some time, according to Shift Up.
- The company’s publishing head says the port isn’t impossible now that Shift Up is self-publishing.
- However, it will be a while before the title makes its way to Team Green’s consoles.
Stellar Blade has arguably become one of the most popular new IPs after launching on PS5 in 2024. The game has gone on to sell over 6 million copies on the Sony console and PC, recording all-time high profits for developer Shift Up, while garnering critical acclaim for its brilliant combat mechanics.
So far, Stellar Blade has only made its way to PS5 and PC, with the publisher just recently announcing a port for Nintendo Switch 2. As it turns out, Xbox isn’t being left behind, but it will be some time before the action-adventure title makes its way to the platform.
Why it matters: Stellar Blade got a massive sales boost after launching on PC, hence an Xbox port will do the game a world of good.

Edouard Akopcan, the publishing head of Shift Up, revealed on X that Stellar Blade is coming to Xbox, but the development team still needs time, probably to figure out the console.
While replying to a fan’s query, Akopcan stated that nothing is impossible now that Shift Up is self-publishing its games instead of relying on external parties like Sony. However, judging from the publishing head’s comments, it will be a while before Stellar Blade officially launches on Xbox consoles.
Many developers have voiced concerns regarding Xbox ports this generation, thanks to the Series S, with the director of No Rest for the Wicked even saying there isn’t a big gap between the specs of the console and a mobile device.

Regardless, it’s only a matter of time before Sellar Blade and its sequel are confirmed to release on Xbox consoles, as Shift Up switched to self-publishing last year and is set to publish the sequel to Stellar Blade and the next title from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s studio Unbound.
