- Hopes are extremely high for Assassin’s Creed Hexe within Ubisoft.
- An insider says that everyone at the studio is ready to jump on the development team due to how good the game looks so far.
- Assassin’s Creed Hexe brings a fresh spin on the series with supernatural elements and a 16th century setting.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the next mainline entry for the series after Shadows, and it certainly sounds like the most different title the IP has seen in years.
Perhaps this is why Ubisoft developers are said to be excited about the project. Despite a recent shakeup within the Assassin’s Creed Hexe development team, an insider states that the game has everyone at Ubisoft fired up.
Why it matters: The French gaming giant’s continued turmoil has led to low morale around the studio, so this is a good sign as the team works toward a comeback.

Commenting on Assassin’s Creed Hexe director Clint Hocking and his recent departure, insider Tom Henderson noted that this isn’t necessarily a red flag for the game.
In fact, he stated that everyone at Ubisoft is currently willing to work on the project. According to Tom Henderson, the game is shaping up to be quite good overall, something the development team is also aware of.
Hexe is the one project everyone at Ubisoft wants to work on because of how good it’s shaping up to be.

Prior to this statement, it was already known that Assassin’s Creed Hexe would take the series back to a smaller scale and tackle brand new themes of supernatural elements and 16th century witchcraft.
It appears it’s no coincidence, then, that the developers are so pumped up. Perhaps the fresh style has made this Assassin’s Creed project more appealing to the team than the typical Ubisoft open-world adventure.

Although insiders believed Ubisoft would have the title ready for launch by the end of 2026, new updates suggest Assassin’s Creed Hexe won’t be ready until 2027. Moreover, this is just one of the many Assassin’s Creed titles the publisher is currently working on.
