Battlefield 6 Has Lost 80% of Its Peak Player Count in Just 2 Months Since Release

Currently Averaging 145K Players, Compared to 750K All-Time Peak!

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 has lost most of its player base now, despite launching in October.
  • It opened with over 750K players, and now averages just 140k players daily.
  • Recent reviews have highlighted a few issues due to which it’s losing players.

In the months leading up to Battlefield 6, the hype for EA’s shooter game was unreal, and it seemed this would finally be the year of Battlefield. Rightfully so, it had an explosive opening with around 750K players, beating all Call of Duty games ever.

However, in just 2 months since launch, Battlefield 6 has lost almost 80% of its peak player count. Its current player count is even lower than that of games like Delta Force, Where Winds Meet, Rust, and others.

Why it matters: Based on the huge opening numbers and positive reviews, it seemed that the player base would remain substantial for quite a long time. While even the current peak is decent, it’s far from what it opened at.

Battlefield 6 currently has just 64K players, and peaked at 145K in the last 24 hours. This is 80% less than what it had at its opening, and almost 60% less than the 350K players it averaged the previous month.

The overall reviews remain positive, but the game has been attracting a lot of negative reviews in recent weeks. Fans complain that the game is broken, the maps are too small, and it isn’t as fun as Battlefield 4 in general.

The number of players that have fallen out of Battlefield 6 is massive, but it still has a lot of potential to make a comeback. The base is solid, and with some good updates and listening to demand, EA can win back a lot of players.

It still has been a very successful year for the franchise as EA revealed it’s the best-selling shooter game of the year. Nonetheless, the company would want to ensure that players stick to the game by listening to feedback.
