- AdHoc Studio is now planning season 2 for Dispatch following its staggering reception.
- The team was unsure three weeks ago but is now seriously considering a second part after seeing high demand.
- However, it is far from being in development as of now, so it may take a few years to arrive.
Despite some gamers being unhappy with its episodic nature, AdHoc’s Dispatch performed extraordinarily well after launch. The narrative experience hovers around superhero workplace comedy with hearty moments that unfold based on your every decision.
The engaging story has proven so popular that gamers have already been wondering if there’s more to come after the launch of the scheduled episodes. Fortunately, AdHoc has noticed the players’ insane demand and is now seriously considering a second season.
Why it matters: Dispatch’s positive reception among gamers shows that episodic games can pack a serious punch if done well. The demand for a second season has skyrocketed in the last few days.
In an interview with Skill Up on YouTube, AdHoc Studio’s co-founders made it clear that the developers were debating about a season 2 as long as three weeks ago.
However, the reception of each Dispatch episode since then has been spectacular in the gaming space, forcing the team to ‘at least think’ hard about a second season.
we’re going to have to at least think about Season 2 now.

To put things into perspective, it already boasts a near-perfect rating on PS5, beating behemoths like Clair Obscur and Death Stranding 2 in the process. Additionally, many gamers are already considering it a strong GOTY contender for this year.

On a sad note, we won’t likely see a second season for many years to come since it still has to be greenlit. So, it hasn’t even entered development yet.
AdHoc Studio has also revealed a project that takes place in Critical Role’s world of Exandria, which might be more of a priority moving forward.
