Battlefield 6 Dominates Steam Charts While Black Ops 7 Fails to Break Top 25

Battlefield 6 Is Coming For The Crown!

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 remains the second-best seller on Steam, holding strong even 20 days after its gameplay reveal.
  • In contrast, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sits at the 26th spot, despite its gameplay reveal just three days ago.
  • These rankings highlight that Call of Duty’s long-standing dominance could finally be at risk.

The gameplay reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was unveiled during Gamescom, but it fell short of the fandom’s expectations. Even though the fandom wasn’t really expecting much, it still managed to disappoint them. The game’s trailer was bombarded with dislikes, and the comments section was full of negativity.

On the other hand, Battlefield 6 has won over fans, consistently ranking among Steam’s top three best sellers since its gameplay reveal, while Black Ops 7 has yet to even break into the top 25.

Why it matters: It has been over 20 days since the gameplay reveal of Battlefield 6, while Black Ops 7 was only showcased three days ago. That’s why it’s surprising to see Battlefield holding a much stronger position on Steam’s best-sellers list.

Battlefield 6 Second Best Seller
Battlefield 6 Is The Second Best-Seller on Steam Right Now

As of the time of writing, Battlefield 6 is in the second place on Steam’s best-seller list(Steam Deck doesn’t count because it is not a game). It is below Forza Horizon 5 mainly because of the massive 50 percent discount; otherwise, just recently, Battlefield 6 was the best seller.

On the other hand, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, despite its recent gameplay reveal, has failed to break into the top 25 best-sellers on Steam, sitting at 26th, a rather disappointing position for such a major release

It’s worth noting that around three months remain before the game’s release, so its position on the charts could improve. Still, it’s clear that Black Ops 6 has not generated the same level of excitement and positive reception that Battlefield 6 has enjoyed.

Previously, reports suggested that Activision’s higher-ups don’t view Battlefield as a real threat, believing Call of Duty is simply too big to fail.

However, that confidence may backfire, as even the former Blizzard boss has predicted that EA’s magnum opus could end up crushing Call of Duty this year.
