Massive Price Cuts Expected This Month!

Story Highlight
  • According to a new report, Nvidia has overstocked the RTX 50 series.
  • This inventory continues to pile up because of a massive decline in sales.
  • Now, it seems like there will be some massive price cuts on the RTX 50 series this month.

Nvidia received a lot of criticism when it revealed the initial lineup of its RTX 50 series graphics cards. While the backlash was intense, it still managed to reach a valuation of $4 trillion, becoming the most successful company in the world

The tech giant is now focusing mainly on AI, which, of course, the fandom doesn’t like. It now aims to reduce the hardware upgrade and focus on improving the AI. However, that seems to have backfired as the tech giant is reportedly planning aggressive price cuts of its RTX 50 series due to poor sales and oversupply

Why it matters: Nvidia is the top company in the world, so having a massive supply of its main product is to be expected. However, it may not have expected sales to be low, which can result in discounts.

Nvidia Reportedly Aims To Cut RTX 50 GPU Prices

According to Boardchannels, via Chiphell, the RTX 50 series GPUs have been stocked way above the ideal levels. This happened mainly because of low sales and continuous supply.

Graphics card manufacturers across various brands may soon begin adjusting prices. Some have already begun preemptively adjusting the cost of the RTX50 series by the end of the month, aiming to help distributors achieve their IN targets in the final days of July.

As per the insider, this has happened because of a sharp drop in the terminal sales, leading to declines in the retail and even wholesale prices. Due to the overstocking, the industry experts now expect the manufacturers to lower their prices throughout August.

According to experts, this would help them maintain liquidity and prevent another sharp decline or, in the best-case scenario, stabilise the sales.

Usually, the series of GPUs released for that generation are sold at a much better price in the Q3 and Q4 of that timeline. Now that the company has reportedly overstocked the cards and there is lower demand, it is likely that we will witness some massive discounts this month.

As this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Nvidia, we recommend taking it with a grain of salt. What are your thoughts about this? Share them with us in he comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.
