Is This The End of Exclusivity in Gaming?

Story Highlight
  • Insider claims that more PlayStation games will indeed be coming to Xbox.
  • This comes after a previous job listing suggested Sony is going completely multiplatform.
  • There is no confirmation of what games will be heading to Xbox for now.

A recent job listing emerged that hinted that PlayStation could be following Xbox and release its games on its competitive console as well. While fans have been enraged with it, a reliable leaker has also weighed in on the situation.

A well-known leaker claims that PlayStation games are indeed coming to Xbox. He doesn’t know if Sony will release its complete slate of games on Xbox, but is sure that the games are coming one way or the other.

Why it matters: If PlayStation indeed goes complete multiplatform, that would mean the end of exclusivity for home consoles, and would leave Nintendo as the only publisher doing that.

Insider claims that news of PlayStation games releasing on Xbox is indeed true

NateTheHate took to X to reveal that after the Helldivers 2 announcement, more PlayStation games will indeed make their way over to the Xbox Series X|S. He said he doesn’t know if it will be Lego Horizon because nobody cares about it.

However, he made it quite clear that he doesn’t know what games or software will be, but he still suggested that there won’t only be multiplayer titles like Marathon or Helldivers 2, but also other single-player titles

It is currently unclear as to which games will be headed to Xbox

PlayStation fans were already enraged when the job listing surfaced; now they’ll be infuriated even more. Also, if this happens, it will once again open the console wars wide open, after Xbox’s struggle in the last few years.

Nonetheless, it still isn’t clear as to what games will be launched. There is also the fact that even if Sony opts to go multiplatform, they still won’t be releasing their titles day 1 on the Xbox consoles.
