RDR, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, And Many More Franchises Are In Trouble!

Story Highlight
  • Recently, a group has become famous for banning games from platforms like Steam that feature adult content.
  • Now, platforms like itch.io have further updated their policies, suggesting that popular games can be cancelled.
  • Games like Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, and many more franchises can be cancelled.

Steam recently introduced a new policy, banning some games with adult content that conflicted with the standards of payment processors, such as Mastercard and Visa.

Collective Shout, which the fandom is also calling the next Sweet Baby, has the leading role in it. This is a women-driven organisation that has played a key role in pressuring Mastercard and Visa to ban payment services for games featuring adult content.

Now, itch.io has quietly added some guidelines, which is why games like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption, and Resident Evil can get banned.

Why it matters: These organisations start targeting games and only promote those that align with their interests. This is a monopoly and should never be allowed in any industry.

New Policy
Some Platforms Are Changing Their Policies, Which Could Result in the Cancellation of Some of the Most Famous Games.

Some of these points are definitely present in some of the most popular video games, which means those games could be subject to bans. doctorbaixue on X, formerly known as Twitter, highlighted some games that could be cancelled, and your favourite game may be among those

Elden Ring, for example, features a complex and twisted story and environment. There is a lot of incest, but it is one of the most enjoyable and fun games to play. There is a reason why it won the Game of the Year award in 2022, but now an organisation has appeared out of nowhere and is targeting such games.

Some Of The Best Story Games Ever
Some Single-Player Titles May Get Cancelled.

Many games nowadays feature adult content, which could be a reason for them to be cancelled. Games are supposed to be pure fiction; they should never be compared with real life. Fiction allows one to make something from their wildest imagination. Therefore, banning them is not the solution.
