- Ninja Gaiden 4 has returned with a major gameplay trailer for the first time since January.
- The title officially arrives on October 21, 2025, on all consoles and Game Pass.
- Team Ninja continues the trend of launching new games every year.
The Ninja Gaiden franchise returned in all its glory earlier this year. Following the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and the announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4, excitement for one of action gaming’s finest IPs has been higher than ever.
Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced with a 2025 release earlier this year and a short gameplay trailer that showcased PlatinumGames’ take on the IP. Today, Xbox has finally debuted a brand new trailer of the game, announcing the final launch date of the title.
Why it matters: Ninja Gaiden’s return serves as a breath of fresh air. The game stands out amid the plethora of currently available Souls-like titles on the market, which offer a very different flavour of action gameplay.
The latest Ninja Gaiden 4 gameplay shows more footage featuring Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa. Both protagonists bring a unique flair to the series while adhering to the signature combat style of the franchise.
Xbox has announced an October 21 release date for the title, leaving just a few months before Ninja Gaiden returns like never before. As a reminder, the title also launches day one on Game Pass on the same date.
Additionally, the new footage highlights a few new characters and boss battles. As expected, fan reaction to this gameplay has been largely positive, with many expressing faith in PlatinumGames’ take on the IP.
Also, since Ninja Gaiden 4 is described as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, fans can look forward to taking the high octane action on the go with the recently announced Rog Xbox Ally.
