Base RX 9070 To Cost Around $600!

Story Highlight
  • Leaked Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT listings show higher than anticipated prices.
  • A major retailer has listed the GPUs for $599 and $699 US Dollars, respectively.
  • These prices will give Nvidia an advantage despite the poor reception of the RTX 5080 and 5090.

AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 XT is said to rival the RTX 4070 Ti Super at a lower price tag. However, the company has yet to confirm an official price tag, which will likely make or break the GPU for most people.

While past rumors suggested a price as low as $479, it seems Nvidia’s poorly received Blackwell gaming lineup has led to AMD raising prices. As per leaked listings, the Radeon RX 9070 XT is set to cost $699.

Why it matters: AMD has previously shown a willingness to stay close to Nvidia’s prices instead of aggressively undercutting them. The gaming giant might be doing the same with its upcoming gaming GPUs.

As shared via Tomasz Gawronski, listings for the upcoming RX 9070 XT briefly appeared on the Canada Computers website.

These listings have now been taken down, but they highlight prices as high as $999. When converted to US Dollars, the price comes out to around $699, making it slightly cheaper than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti.

On the other hand, the weaker RX 9070 is expected to cost $599 in the US, making both variants more expensive than initially expected. As such, the tides may turn in the green camp’s favor again.

AMD would have been wise to price these graphics cards significantly lower than Nvidia’s offerings, but it seems the gaming giant is choosing to increase its margins instead of attempting to go for a bigger market share overall.

However, it is important to note that AMD has probably not finalized prices yet. History has shown that GPU prices can change very close to the official announcements, so it remains to be seen if the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will launch at these prices.
