Tested in the Factoria benchmark, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, demonstrated notable improvements over Ryzen 7950X3D. In terms of specifications, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU should include two Zen 5 CCDs with 16 cores and 32 threads.

With 128 MB of cache, the processor should keep the same 64 MB L3 cache from the CCDs and a single 64 MB 3D V-Cache stack as the 7950X3D. Additionally, the processor will have a 144 MB pool with 16 MB of L2 cache.

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU may also utilize 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache stacking technology to enable higher frequency than the 7950X3D. The Ryzen 9950X3D should also have complete support for overclocking in addition to the usual PBO and CO tuning capabilities.

In Factorio, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 3D V-Cache CPU’s performance was evaluated, and it received a score of 655 UPS. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D, in contrast, averages 553.7 UPS, while the Ryzen 7 7950X3D averages 400 and up to 458 UPS.

These results show that the Ryzen 9950X3D is up to 64% better than the 7950X3D and 18% better than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, bringing significant improvement to the table. 

Currently, AMD has not officially announced its upcoming flagship 3D V-Cache processor, but it is anticipated that AMD will launch it at CES 2025.
