Concord's Failure Has Raised Many Eyebrows!

Story Highlight
  • Hermen Hulst is the current co-CEO of Sony and the head of PlayStation.
  • It seems like he had a major role to play in the development and failure of Concord.
  • This has caused many fans to completely lose faith in him as a leading figure in a major gaming company.

While Jim Ryan’s era at PlayStation wasn’t perfect, it was pretty great. It has been a little while since he stepped down as the head of PlayStation, which caused some fans to be concerned about the future.

To be precise, many didn’t have faith in Hermen Hulst to be able to guide PlayStation down the right path. Now, a major poll has revealed that nearly 90% of the fandom doesn’t even have faith in him as the current head of PlayStation.

Why it matters: PlayStation has recently suffered a major loss that is making many fans question its current leadership.

Fans Are Losing Hope In Hermen Hulst, The Current Head of PlayStation

Pyo on Twitter recently shared the new details that surfaced about Concord. The new information reveals that Concord was like a baby to Hermen Hulst, so in the thread, he generated a poll asking fans whether they have faith in him.

Nearly 90% of the fandom doesn’t have faith in Hermen Hulst as the current head of PlayStation. As of the time of writing, there are over 11k votes, and 88% of them think he isn’t suited for the position

Now, we can’t blame the fandom for being sceptical, as the new information reveals that it took $400 million to develop Concord. Also, as the head was quite fond of the game, no one was allowed to say anything bad about it.

Betting on Concord Was Perhaps The Worst Decision Sony Has Ever Made

Concord was in a laughable condition during its alpha. That is when PlayStation spent an additional $200 million on it. So, even after a lot of time and resources, the game turned out to be a total failure, which has caused the gaming giant a lot.

However, the head of PlayStation pushing it like that is the main reason why the fandom has lost faith in him. While it might not be possible for the shareholders to change the CEO because of this failure, it seems like it will take a lot of time for him to gain fandom’s trust

So, it is fair to assume that Hulst isn’t going to be blamed for this failure; rather, the developers are going to have to face the criticism and consequences.
