Two Very Iconic FromSoftware Games!

Story Highlight
  • Many have wondered about the favorite games of Hidetaka Miyazaki, President of FromSoftware.
  • The question has been answered in a recent interview, and his favorite games are the first Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
  • This is likely due to the influence and various themes of these titles.

What are Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite FromSoftware games? This question has been asked many times, with fans hoping to find out more eventually. Many have argued that it is Bloodborne, as the director has never hidden his reverence for this entry.

However, the debate has finally been settled. In a recent interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed his favorite FromSoftware games, and yes, Bloodborne is one of them.

Why it matters: Nearly every game from this director has held up incredibly well over the years, winning several awards and earning praise from the community.

Bloodborne
The Demand For Bloodborne Remake Is Massive, And FromSoftware is Aware of That

In an interview with Cnet, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the original Dark Souls and the nearly decade-old Bloodborne are his favorite games.

He was asked by the interviewer about his favorite FromSoftware game that he worked on and also his favorite from the studio overall. So, when Miyazaki was asked to choose a favorite child, he picked two that were already held in high regard.

My child, first Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

-Hidetaka Miyazaki

After saying this, Miyazaki instantly said that he loves all his games but chose these two as his favorite.

He revealed that both these games left a massive impression on him, which makes a lot of sense. However, he picked King’s Field 2 as his favorite when considering all of the FromSoftware games, including those he didn’t pioneer.

Moreover, the director praised Elden Ring and said that this game had been a huge milestone for the company, as FromSoftware has sold 25 million units.

Hidetaka Miyazaki also noted that the recent buzz around Bloodborne was great to see. He even agrees with the demand for a remake since that would enable more people to play the title.

Unfortunately, both IPs currently lay dormant. Dark Souls 4 has been in high demand, but the closest thing fans will find to this sequel is the famous Dark Souls Archthrones mod, which is a mixed bag.

That said, it was good to know what games Hidetaka Miyazaki prefers over the others. As a director, he still loves every project he has worked on, but it’s no surprise that Dark Souls and Bloodborne are the closest to his heart.
