RTX 3070 16GB RAM For 1440p 60FPS!

Story Highlights
  • Ghost of Tsushima requires a GPU like an RTX 3070 for 60FPS at 1440p.
  • The game seems to be fairly light on hardware, setting expectations for another optimized port from Nixxes.
  • CPU requirements are also quite low compared to most PlayStation games.

Ghost of Tsushima was finally announced for PC earlier this year after much anticipation. The game is on track to being one of Sony’s biggest PC releases already, and the gaming giant has also confirmed PSN integration for the release.

However, equally impressive are the system requirements. Despite being an enhanced version of a game already upgraded for the PS5, Ghost of Tsushima asks for fairly light hardware, with an RTX 3070 being enough for 1440p 60FPS.

Why it matters: The recent Horizon Forbidden West port garnered praise for Nixxes’ impressive optimization. It seems the same trend is being followed for the upcoming release.

Ghost of Tsushima System Requirements via Nixxes

Highlighting commitment to lower-end hardware, Nixxes has even included recommended hardware for 720p gameplay.

The studio’s CPU demands are noticeably light. While most games ask for high-end CPUs as the resolution increases, Ghost of Tsushima seems to need an Intel Core i5 11400 or a Ryzen 5 5600 at most.

Both chips are a few years old. Meanwhile, on the GPU side, the game seems to work well across all resolutions. A nearly four-year-old graphics card like the RTX 3070 will net 60FPS at 1440p.

These are native settings, so upscaling can be used for further improvements. Ghost of Tsushima offers support for both AMD’s FSR 3 and Nvidia’s DLSS 3 upscaling technology.

Additionally, native anti-aliasing modes for FSR and DLSS are supported, along with Intel XeSS. This mode utilizes the upscale anti-aliasing feature to increase image quality while running the game at native resolution, similar to DLAA on Nvidia.

All in all, Nixxes does not appear to have cut any corners.

Ghost of Tsushima has been treated with the attention it deserves, and we await the port’s launch for further analysis. At the time of writing, the game seems to be in a promising position as one of PlayStation’s best PC ports so far.
