PS5 Slim Discounted By €75 In Europe First Time Since Launch

Just Three Months After Its Launch!

Story Highlight
  • The PS5 Slim was launched in November 2023.
  • It has now received the first major discount in Europe since the beginning of 2024.
  • More countries in Europe will likely get this discount in the coming days.

Sony announced the new design for PS5 last year, offering a more streamlined design and a weight reduction. This model officially hit the market in November, a month after its first appearance.

While it has only been a few months since the launch of the PS5 Slim, Sony has already discounted the console in Europe, and it’s currently available for €75 off the retail price.

Why it matters: This could mean that the console hasn’t been selling as much as Sony wanted, with the gaming giant looking to use these discounts to meet its Fiscal Year target.

While Sony hasn’t officially announced any major discount for PS5 Slim across the region, various retailers are selling the console at a lower price in several parts of Europe.

The console was launched for €549.99 in November last year, but it’s currently available on Amazon, GameStop, and a few other retailers for €474.99 in Italy till the 25th of February.

A reliable insider from the industry, Billbil_kun, has also reported that the PS5 Slim is currently available for €449 on Cdiscount, and other retailers like Amazon are selling the console for €474.99 in France.

Therefore, it’s likely that France and Italy will not be the only countries to receive this discount on the console. An official announcement could come from Sony soon as the wave of price cuts continues.

This is a great offer for you to grab the console if you live in one of the mentioned countries. Similar price cuts are not expected soon again, so this is a major opportunity for potential buyers.

Using such promotions and PlayStation’s strong brand identity, the PS5 has outsold the Xbox Series S/X by around 2 to 1. By the end of 2023, the latter had only sold about 27 million units, while Sony’s latest console completed 50 million shipments in December.

Sony is also nearing the end of its goal to achieve 25 million shipments in the current Fiscal Year. The Fiscal Year ends next month, so these discounts could help it push for the extra mile before time runs out.
