Spider-Man 3: Leaked Insomniac Art Teases 3 Playable Characters

Peter, Miles, & Silk In Spider-Man 3!

Story Highlights
  • Insomniac Games fell prey to a large cyber attack last month, leaking tons of data, including future releases.
  • The cyberattack revealed that Insomniac Games was developing a multiplayer Spider-Verse game.
  • Concept Art for the game may have revealed our first potential look at Spider-Man 3.

Last year, Insomniac Games suffered from data leaks worth 1.6 TB. This included personal information, a half-baked Spider-Man 2 PC Port, and even an unfinished build of the Wolverine game, which is scheduled for release in 2026.

Additionally, the leak detailed Insomniac Games’ roadmap, which included planned multiple titles for the future. The leaked documents suggested that a Spider-Verse multiplayer game, Spider-Man: The Great Web, was in development before cancellation.

The next paragraphs contain spoilers for Spider-Man 2 but leaked concept art from this title teases a third playable character for Spider-Man 3.

Why it matters: Insomniac Games introduced two playable characters for Spider-Man 2. Therefore, an additional character could be the major selling point of the third game.

Those documents led to concept art for this project surfacing online. The leaked concept art gives us our first look at Silk and a more upgraded Green Goblin, which is likely to be a teaser for Spider-Man 3.

The Spider-Verse game was said to have been made using reused assets from the Spider-Man games. However, the inclusion of Silk and the Green Goblin hints at future games since these characters were not officially part of Spider-Man 2.

With Peter, Miles, and Silk featured in a single piece of concept art, this is likely a rough look at Spider-Man 3. The first game featured Peter’s Spider-Man as a playable character, with Miles Morales becoming a superhero just like him at the end of the game.

Similarly, the studio teased Silk and Green Goblin at the end of Spider-Man 2. Therefore, the former might be a playable character, completing the trio of protagonists for Insomniac Games’ third entry.

Miles got his own spin-off game in 2020 before becoming part of Spider-Man 2 last year.

With Cindy Moon’s Silk being teased at the end of Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games may follow the same tradition by giving Silk her own spin-off before her inclusion as one of three protagonists in Spider-Man 3.

Insomniac Games has previously confirmed that Miles will be the main Spider-Man in its universe, which implies that Peter won’t have a major role in the third game. Therefore, the threequel may focus more on Silk and Miles’ Spider-Man.

However, Silk’s costume design could be changed completely since these are early art concepts, subject to change.

With there being multiple Spider-Men variants and several Spider-Women, it is exciting to see Insomniac Games choosing Silk to be the next female lead since most creators tend to opt for Spider-Gwen or Spider-Woman.

Overall, this move should give the studio more room for different gameplay, further expanding the successful formula established in 2018.
