Nvidia Has Again Hinted At Intel As 3rd Foundry Partner

Nvidia May Join Forces With Intel!

Nvidia has previously signed two foundry business partners, TSMC and Samsung, and is going for the third. At the most recent UBS Global Technology Conference, Nvidia’s CFO showed a positive response when asked about a potential partnership with Intel as a Foundry partner for next-generation chips.

Not too long ago, Samsung and Nvidia were closely collaborating on gaming graphics cards. TSMC was leading the charge on the data center front, helping produce AI/HPC chips for the gaming giant.

However, Samsung’s focus on Nvidia’s data center efforts has meant that TSMC is currently working on gaming graphics cards in addition to AI/HPC products. With both Samsung and TSMC busy, a third partner would be quite handy for Nvidia.

When referring to Intel, the CFO said:

“Would we love a third one? Sure.”

In the past, sources have already pointed toward this partnership. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang also showed that he is open to working with Intel, praising its next-generation process after the test chip results.

Meanwhile, TSMC and Samsung will remain Nvidia Foundry business partners. The former currently aids in the production of Hopper H200 and Blackwell B100 GPUs, while the latter is still a valuable partner.

Given Intel’s enthusiasm to work with more partners, Nvidia seems like a natural fit. The fact that Intel is based in the US makes it even more compelling as a partner.

Still, CEO Jensen Huang believes the US needs two more decades to catch up in this industry, currently much further behind the likes of TSMC and Samsung.
